This new trial service includes delivery and tracking, making it an economical way to send and track your items. Domestic letter with tracking leverages Registered Post’s tracking capability. The new trial service provides the same tracking experience as articles sent by Registered Post, with the key difference being a scan on delivery rather than a signature on delivery.
IMPORTANT: This envelope should NOT be used to send items with a total value exceeding $100. If items exceed $100 in value, we recommend you purchase Extra Cover.

Delivery within Australia
This single-use, prepaid envelope; includes postage for lodgement and delivery within Australia.
The envelope must not exceed 500 grams or 20mm in thickness when posted.
The envelope is carried under the Australia Post General Terms and Conditions and is subject to the Domestic letter with tracking Trial Terms and Conditions.
The envelope will be delivered to the regular delivery timetable (for letters), unless the customer has purchased and affixed a priority label on the prepaid envelope, in which case, the envelope will be delivered to the priority delivery timetable (for letters).
Tracking
This single-use, prepaid envelope; has a unique identification number that enables tracking scans as the envelope progresses through the Australia Post network.
The number of tracking scans will vary depending on how and where the envelope is lodged, processed and delivered.
The envelope may receive a tracking scan:
- on lodgement, if lodged over the counter at any Post Office with electronic point of sale;
- at a processing facility, if processed by automated mail processing equipment; or
- on delivery, where a tracking scan can be captured.

Compensation
Australia Post will exercise due care and skill in supplying this service. However, the nature of postal services is such that circumstances may impact on the successful delivery of your article.
Compensation – standard
The standard Domestic letter with tracking service has a content value restriction of $100. In the event of loss or damage to your article, we may provide you with compensation of up to $100 in total value, which is included as part of the Domestic letter with tracking service, in addition to postage charges incurred (conditions apply^).
Compensation – standard plus Extra Cover
In addition to the above standard compensation, Extra Cover may be purchased for items valued over $100 and up to $500 in total value (conditions apply^^).
You may also have additional rights to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.

Delivery
Australia Post will aim to dispatch your order within 1-2 working days (excludes weekends and Public Holidays) of receiving your order.
Domestic orders
Delivery to your designated shipping address usually occurs within 3-7 working days from the dispatch date. Your order may arrive in multiple deliveries in the event that items are fulfilled from multiple locations.
Items purchased through the Australia Post online shop will be sent via eParcel for most domestic orders. A signature upon delivery is usually required.
If your order can't be left safely on the premises, it will be taken to a local Australia Post facility for collection. If this happens, an 'Item Awaiting Collection' card will be left for you.
Some products are eligible for Click & Collect. Please allow 3-7 working days for your Click & Collect order to be ready, you will receive an email notification once your order is ready to collect.
International Orders
Some products are eligible for International delivery. International orders will be dispatched within 1-2 working days of receiving your order. Delivery of international orders to your designated shipping address is usually 10+ working days from the dispatch date via an untracked service. This excludes any time in customs and delays due to reasons outside of Australia Post’s control. Country specific delivery times will be available online at auspost.com.au.
